The "Chartrandistas!"

Good Day Readers:

To understand this next comment, sometime ago one of our readers linked the Chartrandistas to purple kool-aid.

At first we were a little puzzled by the reference until research revealed in November of 1978 Jim Jones the American founder and leader of the 900 strong Peoples Temple fled to Jonesville, Guyana after the sect became the focus of an investigation by the FBI.

An increasingly paranoid Mr. Jones convinced 909 of his followers to drink purple kool-aid containing cyanide. To date it remains the largest mass suicide in US history.
