"I came, I saw, I got fired!"

Good Day Readers:

At a time when the CBC is navigating its way through significant budget cuts, it's interesting to listen to what Richard Stursburg has to say about his 6-years as an outsider brought in to Head English Services for "The People's Network.

"During his six years as head of English Services at the CBC, Richard Stursberg stood the Corporation on its head. He introduced reality TV, revamped the news operation and transformed Radio 2 from playing all classical music, to a mix of different genres. He shunned the word "mandate," and he took no prisoners.

Michael Enright speaks with Richard Stursberg about his time at the CBC, which he chronicles in his new book The Tower of Babble. (Michael Enright, Host Sunday Edition)

You can listen to the complete fascinating interview at www.cbc.ca/thesundayedition. Hear how he came, he saw and, yes, got fired.

Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk
