Its been hot and sunny in Winnipeg lately ..... CyberSmokeBlog hasn't been wearing its blogging hat?

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post, "How say you?"

Two issues:

1. Certainly the CJC should have posted the affidavit on its website. Ask yourself why it hasn't?

2. "Transparency and the public interest." Independent Counsel was supposed to be acting in the public interest. The Canadian Judicial Council loves transparency. Ask yourself why the CJC has  refused to tell the public why Mr. Pratte quit? Ask yourself why it has posted online lots of communication between Counsel but not Pratte's resignation letter? Of what is it afraid? Why won't it tell the public why its "Counsel acting in the public interest" resigned?

If The Council refuses to be transparent on issues like this, it makes one start to smell a rat ....

Dear Anonymous:

Thank you for contacting CyberSmokeBlog.

Regarding the first issue, CyberSmokeBlog has no explanation other than its not been wearing it's blogging hat on hot sunny days which is why if you check out CSB you'll notice a letter posted today to Norman Sabourin, Executive Director and Senior General Counsel to the Canadian Judicial Council.

As for the second item, if you haven't already you might wish to reference CristinSchmitz's article in the September 21, 2012 Issue of The Lawyers Weekly (Sparks fly over Douglas case resignation). The suggestion is made "Pratte the Cat" may have found himself in a power struggle with the Inquiry Committee Members to which we'd add, "And a possible conflict of interest too?"

However, the public may yet find out. Sounds like Alex Chapman's Counsel Rocco "The Great Predictor" Galati may challenge in Federal Court the CJC's decision not to post "The Cat's" resignation letter.

You have raised several interesting questions so what do you think? At least CSB has the excuse of not wearing a blogging hat on hot sunny days.

Starting to smell a rat are we?

Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk
