News on the Douglas Inquiry?

Dear CyberSmokeBlog:

Has this thing been put to sleep forever or have I missed anything?

CB

Dear CB:

Not you haven't missed anything. The Douglas Inquiry was adjourned during July of last year tentatively rescheduled to reconvene in December. Then a raft of Motions were filed in the Federal Court of Canada not all of which have yet been ruled upon.

So here we are in June almost a year later and the Canadian Judicial Council has yet to announce a restart date not has it been keeping the public it 'purportedly serves' apprised of why such a long delay and what's happening. That's totally unacceptable by anyone's standards.

In the meantime Lori Douglas collects at least part (if not all) of her generous salary, pension, benefits and perks as an Associate Chief Justice (Queen's Bench Manitoba) at taxpayers' expense.

Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk
