A tootless, lame duck, paper tiger figurehead?

Good Day Readers:

When you read Norman Sabourin's reply to Alberta's Justice Minister you have to wonder exactly WTF Beverley McLachlin does as Chairperson of the Canadian Judicial Council?
Is she already wearing too many hats with fingers in too many pies? Does she have too many ceremonial hats in her closet?

If Beverley McLachlin is going to be such a figure head maybe she should replace Robert Borden on the Canadian $100 bill.
But there may be another issue here.

Mr. Super Self-Rep and Royal pain in the ass to the legal establishment (Chris Budgell - Vancouver) for years now has argued the "gatekeeper" function Norman Sabourin has assumed may not be consistent with The Judges Act and the Council's By-Laws. Every time he raises it he seems to get the bum's rush

On behalf of the Right Honourable Beverley Mclachlin, I wish to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 22 December 2015 in which you request, pursuant to subsection 63(1) of  the Judges Act that an inquiry be commenced about the conduct of Justice Robin B. Camp of the Federal Court.

While Chief Justice McLachlin is Chairperson of the Canadian Judicial Council she does not participate in any way in the review of judicial conduct matters by Council nor in the administration of the review process.

Pursuant to The Review Procedures of the Council, I am responsible for the administration of all aspects of the process of review of complaints by Council. Please be assured that Council is taking all the necessary steps to commence an inquiry as you have requested. A press release indicating that the matter is being referred to an Inquiry Committee at your request will soon be issued.

I will write to you again upon conclusion of this matter and provide you with a copy of the report of the Inquiry Committee as per subsection 8(0) of the Canadian Judicial Council Inquiries and Investigation By-laws 2015.

I remain at your disposal should you require anyhing further.

Yours sincerely,
(Original signed by Norman Sabourin)
