A fascinating announcement soon?

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post, "Voters meet MMF plaintiff John Fleury!"

Oh, I can hardly wait Clare ..... I wonder what they will say? ..... How will they answer your pointed questions? ..... I wish it were broadcast live, CyberSmokeSignals and all.

Oooo...

Dear Anonymous:

As always thank you for writing. The possibility exists. Earlier this year a group of judges from Manitoba met with their counterparts in Vancouver to discuss the issue of television cameras in courtrooms. We believe their selective use is long overdue - selective meaning the Court would have the discretion to order them removed in certain circumstances. For example, during poignant testimony (i.e. a gruesome murder, violent rape) or to protect witness identity).
This summer a judge in an Ottawa trial allowed those in the public gallery to twitter so that precedent has already been set.
In the United States at least one judge allows real time blogging in the courtroom which is decided on a case by case basis. They've even gone as far as to assign Bloggers a spection section.
Of course, we'll be reporting daily on what's happening plus another Blogmaster has already agreed to provide parallel coverage. Material that appears on this site is not copyrighted so could be picked up and carried by anyone.
Finally, we're hoping to announce shortly a fascinating development in the case. It's not covered by the court ordered publication ban so can be displayed on the internet. As a courtesy we've contacted an organization and are awaiting their approval.
Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk
Post Script: And BTW, the questions you've seen are only a sampling and by no means complete.
