Dear Mr. Populi:

Thank you very much for the link. We seem to recall reading on your site not long ago about a former Congressman who'd recently been released from jail for fraud and was going to run again this time as an Independent. Seems there was nothing to stop him.

When you think about it there are no qualifications/job descriptions for anyone seeking public office except organizations/political parties tend to prefer individuals with public profile who are a known quantity to voters. Could this perhaps explain why some of the people we elect are given at times to making such stupid comments?

Then again maybe we should run against David Chartrand in the upcoming Manitoba Metis Federation election. Couldn't do any worse!
