The MMF- Canadian taxpayer transparency, organizational accountability and good governance?
Ron Chartrand
Below is a letter we published on the eve of the Manitoba Metis Federation's September 2010 Annual General Assembly held in Brandon. We were advised as recently as yesterday Mr. Fleming has yet to receive a reply.

Re: MMF Winnipeg Region
The Manitoba Metis Federation Board of Directors are the governing elected body that looks after Metis Rights and police their elected people.
I (Ivan Fleming ) a member in good standing with the Manitoba Metis Federation would like our Board of Directors to look into the following concerns.
In 2008 Vice-President Ron Chartrand Winnipeg Region founded a company called Al-Isa Construction and Management to do work at 2000 Portage Avenue and at 406, 408 and 412 Mcgregor Street.
It is a well-known fact that the Manitoba Metis Federation and it’s Winnipeg Region (412 McGregor Street ) do in fact own 406, 408, and 412 McGregor Street properties, as well as, a share of 2000 Portage Avenue (Metis Child and Family Services ).
My questions to the Board of Directors are:
1. Is there a conflict of interest with Vice-President Ron Chartrand’s Company (Al-Isa Construction and Management Inc.) hired to do the work on these buildings?
2. Did Al-Isa Construction and Management Inc. receive funds from the Local Management Board Winnipeg Region to work on these projects?
3. Winnipeg Region (Vice-President Ron Chartrand) took out a $394,000 Mortgage against 406, 408, and 412 Mcgregor Street buildings. Where did that money go and how was it spent?
A response within 60 days would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Ivan Fleming
