A whistleblower in South Carolina needs legal advice?
Good Day Readers:
We received the following e-mail from The Public Eye a practicing criminal defence lawyer somewhere in Canada and part-time blogger:
Mr. Young,
I would like to help, but my main area of practice right now is criminal defence, have had no contact with American employment or administrative/regulatory law, and am only versed with Canadian law. Apologies, but any advice/comments I had to offer would almost certainly be to your deep and abiding detriment!
Just out of curiosity: When you say I posted a piece about employee freedom of speech, which one are you referring to? I don't recall it off the top of my head.

Hello,
I have seen an article that you have posted about employees' freedom of speech. I would really like to consult with you about my current whistleblower with DOL and OSHA. My work has not been paying OT properly and also has a total of 29 (minimal) OSHA violations .... I know you maybe busy busting peoples' balls right now but if you get a chance please contact me asap ...Thank You,

Upon receiving The Public Eye's e-mail we decided to undertake some complicated detective work.
"DOL" is likely the Department of Labour while "OSHA" Occupational Safety & Health Administration a federal agancy and 803 is the area code for South Carolina. While the alleged infractions do not appear to involve potentially injury causing situations, nevertheless, the gentleman deserves support from the state's legal community or elsewhere. Hopefully, an attorney somewhere will step forward since Mr. Populi is in no position to help.
CyberSmokeBlog fully endorse and supports whistleblowing especially when corruption is exposed which is most of the time.
Sincerely,
