Smoke and mirrors from the Soviet Union?

Frank Godon has left a new comment on your post, "Will the MMF's affinity card pay for its legal costs?"
Change the Metis flag to the Soviet flag in the photo and you have a modern day "Uncle Joe" look alike.
My question is, "How can a "group" claim compensation for individuals?" The script was given to individual people not to a "band" or "community." It was individuals who were cheated not a "group." This is nothing more than getting rich off the misfortunes of others. I hope the Supreme Court of Canada can see through the smoke and mirrors.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Comrade Godon:

Because of your past direct connection to the Soviet Union we decided to honour you with our annoying little Cossack dancer. We have to agree with you for the following reasons. In no particular order:

(1) Our Supreme Court of Canada Justices are no dummies!

(2) As you are well aware no one can seem to agree on the number of Metis citizens in Manitoba. Estimates have ranged from 70,000 - 120,000. Not all are MMF members

(3) The federal government recently told the Federation it will define who and what constitutes a Metis via the Canadian Standards Association

(4) If you consider past lower court arguments one recurring argument has been, "Is the MMF the only rightful, lawful political representative of the province's Metis?

(5) Should the Supremes grant an entitlement more than likely it would be administered by a joint federal-provincial Land Claims Commission before which individuals could apply for compensation

Rather, after the decision is handed down we see David Chartrand disappearing over the horizon (Thank God!) mumbling in his best Queen's English and vocabulary something about, "that ..... white man's justice again!"

Sincerely/Clare L. Pieuk

I like Davids quote:

“What really threatens us is if you look at the [contract], it says verification and standardization. Verification to what, to whom? If you start doing that, aren’t you starting to dabble in definition?” Mr. Chartrand said. “Who wants to walk around with a CSA-approved stamp? Pretty soon I’ll have a little clip in my ear with an expiry date too.”

David your expiry date has come and gone - you just don't know it.
