Winnipeg is still a small town!

Nestled in the heart of the Exchange at 237 McDermot Avenue the News Cafe is the social hub and meeting place in Winnipeg featuring delicious food, tasty berverages and lively happenings.

We are live streaming a variety of programs at the Cafe and will be hosting events like town halls, mini-concerts, book readings and more. You'll also get the chance to meet the journalists, as we rotate in a variety of editors, beat writers and columnists week to week.

Noted local restauranteur Domenic Amatuzio - behind such culinary delights as Terrace Fifty Five, Civita and the Liberty Grill - has come up with an amazing menu!

Good Day Readers:

Had occasion today to be in Winnipeg's historic Exchange District so stopped into the Winnipeg Free Press's recently opened News Cafe. Saw some television/camera equipment and a few people diligently working with laptop computers so decided to approach one. Turned out to be a WFP reporter we got to know back in late 2005 not long after the Manitoba Metis Federation launched it's defamation lawsuit against our precursor site CyberSmokeSignals.

Do we have a lot of catching up to do!

Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk
