How say you readers?
Great idea! We'll have to steal it. Love to hear from you. Been working on something similar, with the lofty title of, "The Democracy Project." Let me introduce you to the Editor and we'll get this going.

Dear Ms Goodhand:
Thank you for contacting CyberSmokeBlog.
We too quite like the Toronto Star's idea as it will likely serve to get more people involved at the grassroots level in Manitoba's upcoming provincial election given chronically low voter turnout. Presumably, it could be argued who knows best if not the electorate? Perhaps Abraham Lincoln said it best while commenting on the subject, "In the end people get the kind of government they deserve."
During the recent federal election we are aware of only one televised debate which brought together all candidates from a particular riding - ironically, Saint Boniface. It was indeed enlightening/informative to watch as, in some cases, candidates wobbled around and flew by the seat of their pants in response to certain of the moderator's questions. Perhaps The Winnipeg Free Press News Cafe might present a natural venue to expand the concept given it's already technologically setup for such end uses.
Hope you don't mind we decided to post your comments in the hope CSB readers will weigh in with their two cents.
How say you readers?
Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk
