Tansi/Good Folks:

I'm back! On May 6, 2000 shortly after the MMF election Terry Belhumeur launched www.manitobametisfederation.com because he was concerned with the MMF's lack of financial accountability, transparency and governance. Shortly thereafter I evolved as webmaster. Terry's first heading in boxcar sized letters was, "HI DAVID IT ALL STARTS HERE!" Six years later, "HI DAVID IT ALL CONTINUES HERE!" seems apropos.

With your help I believe we can build this into a highly informative site not only for Manitoba Metis but those of you living throughout Canada. The current MMF defamation lawsuit against Vanessa Everton, Terry and I is a fascinating case because of its potential to establish precedent setting jurisprudence involving the principle of freeedom of speech and expression as enshrined in Canada's Constitution. To what lengths can a taxpayer funded organization go to silence dissenting points of view on the internet?

Very shortly I will be publishing "The MurrayGate Tapes!" - Part II (Part I was previously published on CyberSmokeSignals.com) which is an official court transcript of my cross-examination by MMF lawyer Murray N. Trachtenberg held January 24, 2006. You decide whether this is a good use of YOUR public dollars.

Finally, a big thank you to two very special people who are responsible for getting me back online. You know who you are but it's better you not be identified in this era of litigation chill. It's great to be back!
