Dear Sir:

Thank you for the aforementioned correspondence. Unfortunately, I am unavailable on June 28, 2005. With all due respect Mr. Trachtenberg, we fail to understand the relevance of the name of the course I teach on said date. However, during our hearing before Master Joy Cooper I will be most willing to confirm the subject areas, times and dates of my lecture schedule.

I have been advised during the afternoon of Wednesday June 15, 2005 at approximately 3:00 p.m. a lady who would only identify herself by the Christian name "Lousie" telephoned Red River College's Steinbach Campus stating:

(1) She had heard from a friend I would be giving some sort of presentation on June 28, 2005. This confused our secretary who misinterpreted the lady's question to mean I would be offering a special lecture beyond my normal regularly scheduled class

(2) "Louise" suggested our secretary not discuss their conversation so "no one would get into trouble"

(3) The lady indicated she would call back June 16, 2005 at approximately the same time which she subsequently failed to do

Perchance does a Louise Coulombe using the e-mail address lcoulombe@ptlaw.mb.ca work in your law office Mr. Trachtenberg? The mystery lady was informed I have a regularly scheduled lecture on Tuesday June 28, 2005 from 3:30-6:30 p.m.

Unfortunately, I also have one on July 6, 2005. Thank you Sir for your kind consideration of this matter.

Update: Counselor Trachtenberg never responed to this correspondence. Legal Assistant Louise Coulombe has since left his employ and been replaced by Pat Bergen. On October 30, 2008 at the Manitoba Law Courts Building I inquired as to Ms Coulombe's present whereabouts, however, Mr. Trachtenberg lawyered up - surprise!
