Is there a lawyer in the house?
Good Day Readers:
After receiving an excellent link from The Public Eye:
Truth To Power
in which a Pennsulvanya newspaper (The York Daily Record - Fumo: Juror Discussing Case On Facebook, Twitter) wrote about someone who had Facebooked and Twittered thereby placing a 5-month Philadelphia trial in jeopardy, a question came to mind we're sure many of you have also wondered about.
After a trial in the United States, jurors can be seen on national television being interviewed about what went on behind closed doors during their deliberations yet we never see this in Canada. Are there laws here preventing it and if so what are the penalties?
If you're a lawyer who can enlighten our readers on the subject we'd like to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk
