From 30,000 to 13?

Good Day Readers:

After talking yesterday with someone from the Jury Coordinator's Office at the Law Courts Building about the selection process for an upcoming criminal trial, we were told it began with 30, 000 names from Manitoba Health's data base which were then whittled down to 50-70 who will be required to appear. Ultimately 14-18 juors will be chosen.

Upon further reflection we wondered how did they go from 30,000 to 50-70 - anyone know?

Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk
