KAMLOOPS - A British Columbia Conservative MP is dealing with an embarrassing family matter after her 22-year-old son mooned the crowd at his university convocation ceremony.

It happened Thursday when James McLeod lifted his gown to bare his bum after getting a degree at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.

Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo MP Cathy McLeod says she was horrified to hear what happened and is dealing with this as a mom, not an MP.

She says her son told her it was a spur of the moment decision and he did not mean any disrespect.

The university says this kind of thing has never happened before.
