O... on artifacts, the bell, sash and painting!

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post, "The painting!"

Wonder what happens to Metis artifacts obtained by the MMF? Wonder still, where's the bell? And hey, who's wearings the sash?

If I could paint it would be Louis Riel looking down at David (Chartrand) giving him a slap on the side of his head ...

O...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear O...

As always thank you for writing with your great sense of humour!

Regarding Metis artifacts, there's a museum in the St. Boniface section of Winnipeg where they usually seem to be sent. If any of our readers have more information on the subject please let us know and we'll publish it. As for the Bell of Batoche, over the years the name of a well known individual within the Metis community keeps circulating. What puzzles us is why can't the police solve this one they've cracked a lot more difficult cases. Realistically, it's probably going to take some serious reward money, no charges and a guarantee of anonymity before anything happens.

The sash? Don't know who's wearing it although certainly not former Prime Minister Paul Martin.

Finally, too bad you couldn't paint. We'd love to see your rendition of Louis Riel reaching down from the heavens to give David Chartrand a good slap on the side of the head.

Ever wonder what Louis Riel would think of "The Painting?"
Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk
