In the case of RITA CULLEN and DARRYL MONTGOMERY both ceased being Board of Directors on June 29, 2006 the date of the last MMF election. We do not know whether for whatever reason(s) they chose not to run or were defeated.









During March 1999 an Amended Statement of Claim was issued against Ms Cullen for allegedly defaming Mr. Ron Erickson during a January 1997 public meeting of the Manitoba Metis Federation. Last time we checked we could find no evidence a Notice of Discontinuance had been registered suggesting while there has been no action on this file recently it still remains alive.

Mr. Montgomery had a Statement of Claim registered against him during August of 2004 while it would appear he was an MMF Board of Director. Federation law firm Duboff Edwards Haight & Schachter prepared the document in which it was alleged his company Mistinipe Ventures Limited owed "MMF arm's-length affiliate" the Louis Riel Capital Corporation $61, 756.86 as of August 6, 2004. The file also revealed three different companies had filed Notices of Garnishment against Mr. Montgomery and his wife Jennifer Alyne Montgomery.
