Waiting with bated breath ......
Good Day Readers:
What a neat idea! Manitoba has a provincial election October 4 this year so we're offering our services to the Editors of The Winnipeg Free Press and Winnipeg Sun.
We're completely reliable, independent, unbiased, hardworking, the quintessential team player, visionary, conceptual thinker par excellence , multi-tasker ..... but above all, yes, modest and humble.
Our downsides you ask? Not many. Tend to be a tad cynical, acerbic, satirical and a jester but then again when you have your own blog you can afford these luxuries. However, this is nicely balanced by humour. Besides, as a constituent of Saint Boniface our Member of the Legislative Assembly is none other than Premier Greg Selinger so you know he'll have to talk with us and won't be able to give us the bum's rush.
Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk

Michael Cooke, Editor-in-Chief at the Toronto Star. (Rene Johnston/Toronto Star)
Dear reader,
In early September we will be launching Speak Your Mind, a forum for commentary, debate and conversation around the key topics driving the fall provincial election.
The Star is convening this forum to bring together news, opinion and information from bloggers, readers, community correspondents, expert commentators and the Toronto Star journalists you trust, with the aim of promoting discussion, participation and engagement around the election. To help us provide a greater depth and range of insight on the issues at the local level, we are looking for two Community Correspondents from each electoral district in Ontario to cover the political scene, the candidates and the issues that are important to your area.
Do you have what it takes to become a Community Correspondent on thestar.com? In addition to having your posts published on our website, your contributions may also appear in the Toronto Star. If you’re interested, please complete the application at www.thestar.com/speakyourmind by Monday, August 22, and tell us about yourself, your related experience and what you feel are the most important election issues in your community. Positions will be filled as suitable candidates are found, so apply early.
We value the opinions of our readers. Please share your ideas and feedback on this opportunity at www.facebook.com/SpeakYourMindCanada.
Sincerely,
Michael Cooke
