Anyone know?

Dear CyberSmokeBlog,

Another question that should be asked is who paid McLachlin's expenses for attending this mock trial? I'm guessing that unlike the Senators she wouldn't put anything like that on her expenses but how would we know if she did?

Dear ...cb:

Thank you for contacting CyberSmokeBlog. Here's a video in which Beverley McLachin addresses, well sort of, the issue of Supreme Court of Canada expenses.

Notice how the Old Girl skated and wobbled around the question without answering it.

If federal and provincial politicians, not to mention senators, can ply themselves with $800 plus nightly hotel rooms, $22 pots of coffee and $16 glasses of orange juice why not the Supreme Court of Canada? An educated guess is expenses of the Chief Justice and her colleagues are exempt from the federal Access To Information legislation. Anyone know?

Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk
