Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench Rule 34.04(5) - revisited!

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post, "Coming soon Episode 3 - $The Murraygate Tapes$"

But Mr. Pieuk, we haven't established what this money was for - why did Terry Belhumeur receive the payment? What did he do to deserve it? Can someone answer that question for me?

Dear Anonymous:

Thank you for writing. We'll try. Darrel Deslauriers asked much the same question recently. Scroll to our May 4, 2008 posting entitled, "Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench Rule 34.04(5)!" which explains the situation.

It's analogous to being selected for jury duty. Each juror is paid a daily stipend something around $30 - anyone know the exact amount? It's a lot less than most people would earn if they worked instead which may explain why some try to self-disqualify. Telling the Defendant's attorney during the screening process you think their client is guilty as hell would probably do it.

Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk
